CoinTrue identifies coins from photos and shows what they are worth. You don't need an account, we don't show ads and we don't sell data.

Coin photos

When you scan a coin, the app sends the two photos to our server to identify the coin. Our server passes them to Anthropic, the company that runs the AI model that reads the date and mint mark, and receives back the coin's details. We do not store your photos: they are discarded as soon as the coin is identified. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms and does not use them to train its models. Please photograph only the coin. Avoid including people, documents or anything else in the picture.

What we keep on our server

For each scan we keep a technical record: a random identifier the app creates on your device, the time, the year and mint mark that were read, how confident the reading was, and what it cost us to process. We use it to apply the daily free limit, to prevent abuse and to improve accuracy. It does not include your photos, your name, your email or your location.

What stays on your phone

Your collection (coins, conditions, quantities, notes and the photo you keep with each coin) and your preferences are stored only on your phone. If you delete the app, they are deleted.

Prices

Coin details and price estimates come from the Numista catalog. Our server looks them up; Numista does not receive your photos or any information about you.

Purchases and subscriptions

If you subscribe to Premium, Apple processes the payment. To confirm your subscription is active we use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, which receives your purchase history from Apple linked to the random identifier the app created. We never receive your name, email or card details. See revenuecat.com/privacy.

Notifications

The reminder before your free trial ends is a local notification scheduled by your own phone. We don't use push notification services or store any token.

What we don't do

• No ads and no advertising networks.
• No tracking of your activity in other apps or websites.
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties beyond the services described above, which we use only to run the app.

Children

CoinTrue is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can delete your collection at any time from the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone. To ask us to delete the scan records linked to your device's random identifier, write to us with the identifier shown in Settings.

Changes

If a future version changes anything in this policy (for example, adding analytics), we will update this page before releasing it and change the date above.
